Water Wisdom: Joy

Joy. You need it to survive and thrive. Cultivate many avenues to joy. Don’t allow your joy to be dependent on other people or outside situations or experiences. You must create your own reservoir of joy, your own paths to joy. Let them be plentiful and full. Bask in them. Exalt.

Practice: How do you tap into joy? Into goodness? What feels good to you? How long can you sit in that goodness before something less pleasant appears? Does it take over or can you go back to the goodness, the joy? How many paths to joy do you have? Can you cultivate more? What’s standing in your way? Think of something that brings you joy, no matter how small. Focus on it and see how long you can stay fully focused on it. If your attention drifts, bring yourself back to the joy source. Do this every day.
